Scott Bond unveils the second release from his freshly launched REBOOTED label with a collaboration from himself and Marc Mitchell they like to call Airfoil...
It's to every well seasoned trance fans delight that Scott Bond has the passion for trance back in his heart. The Gatecrasher legend from over a decade ago has found a fresh breeze of air when it comes to new trance music. His 'REBOOTED' concept has gone form just a simple series of free mixes to a full on trance brand with now his very own label on the go.
Scott launched the new label last year with Obsidian Radio’s ‘Love Like This’ featuring the very well know vocalist Jan Johnston. For the follow up he has put his own name on the cover along side Marc Mitchell, who you may know more of by his Sunday Club alias. He has over three decades of working with trance and house, producing, remixes and designing. That should be a good partner for Scott Bond then as they deliver a very high tempo trance tune they call Airfoil.

The good thing about a Scott Bond release these days is the breeze of a fresh new talent that comes with it. There are a lot of names on this release I can say I’ve heard a lot of before. The original, or in this case the REBOOTED mix is a very high energy pumping trance tune from the word go. The main riff is surrounded by well sequenced rearward melodies and tasty piano leads. The art of a big uplifting trance record in the high BPM’s is not one which Scott and Marc have forgotten how to produce. It’s an engaging journey from beginning to end with very inviting melodies.
Looking at something a little different from the REBOOTED mix you’ve got a good bit of choice on this release with four varieties to chow down on. For the uplifting melody seekers you should be heading towards Standerwick’s mix as it builds on the originals uplifting nature and gives it a bit more while still being as banging. For that tech edge, check out Simon Templar’s mix, not for me this one but for those who like dark tech stuff it’s the one to go for here. Stephane Badey has done a very tidy mix, full on banging with some neat little acid drops kicking off. The pick of the remixes here for me though has to be Splattered Implant. They whip in the acid riff from the get go and really put a spacey twist on things. Chuck in some rambling vocals along with that acid flavour and you have a very addictive record here.
Conclusion:
Scott’s definitely got the quality over quantity right with his label as Airfoil is a superb release. The REBOOTED mix is a damn fine pumping uplifter but just for those acid lines the Splattered Implant Feat. Crystal Blakk Remix does the business for me.
