Darren Tate is back on his very own Mondo Records with a brand new DT8 Project single called 'Forever In A Day'. There is a familiar vocal on the new record with Alexta offering a stunning harmonic tone to a gorgeous trance backdrop with that signature DT8 sound...
It’s no secret that I’ve been a Darren Tate fan ever since I first heard a record by him. He is a man of many musical talents and while you might not think he’s that busy with the frequency of his releases he is anything but. The home of his musical creations Mondo Records have been a consistent source of good music for well over a decade. Darren has many different alias other than his own name with Jurgen Vires being one which trance fans may point out as a highlight after the very successful ‘Theme’. One for me that has very special memories is his DT8 Project. His past productions under it have been nothing short of exceptional with ‘Hole Me To The End’ and ‘Destination’ being two I would pick out every time. It’s good news then that he has a new one under that alias and it keeps with its former incarnations soft, uplifting, melody driven trance style.

There may be something very familiar sounding about this release as it keeps in line with the DT8 Project sound of the past. That’s not a bad thing, why change something which works so successfully well, if Darren wanted to do that he would release it on another alias. The DT8 Project sound has kept true to its roots and that’s very evident in this latest release. The vocals are once again provided by Alexta who has the perfect harmonic fit for Darren’s delicious production sound. The vocals really sell a story for the track with its gorgeous piano keys and sweeping melodies that scream uplift with every chord change. There are two version here from Darren, a very delicate original mix and a slightly beefed up club mix just offering that little bit more punch and delivers a different angle on what is a sensational main melody.
There is a good remix package with this new single. For the chilled out fans Nima van Ghavim cinematic approach to the track will go down very nicely. Taking up a little bit more progressive punch and upping the tempo a little is a tidy remix from the three some of Koishii, Hush and Ric Scott. The piano break they have sliced into their mix really is good. Azotti’s remix is once again on the progressive side but very punchy it its beats. He puts the hook on the bass line and it’s a quite addictive mix with the vibrant main beat. Mark Nails has two mixes; one stripped of the vocal and offers the most diverse sound of all the mixes on show here.
Conclusion:
This must be one of the best releases on Mondo Records this year and its no surprise it’s from Darren Tate. This new single from his DT8 Project ticks all the right boxes for me and with its warm, uplifting trance melodies in there to melt the ears drums I’m sure it will do the same for you.
