Termed as a "Rising Star" by popular dance music magazine Mixmag, Rich Smith is undeniably one of the most talented producers out there at the moment, as well as holding the title of one of the nicest and hardest working artists on the scene! As a long-standing member of the Recoverworld Label Group, he took over the responsibility from Matt Hardwick, to become Head of A&R for Kill the Lights - a label synonymous with uplifting and euphoric floor-fillers.
To this day, his production values reflect this ethos and his massive anthems are engineered for peak time dance floor euphoria. He has held residencies at a number of UK clubs such as Kinetic, Junction 21 & Xero, as well as rocking dance floors throughout Europe and Canada. This has lead to him playing alongside some of the world's biggest DJ's, including Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Sean Tyas, The Thrillseekers and John Askew, to mention just a few.
KILL THE LIGHTS VOLUME 2 - RICH SMITH'S LIGHTS OFF MIX
The last twelve months have been no exception to the rule, with a number of tracks released on Kill The Lights, Discover Records and Critical State, gigs including the official SW4 after-party, an album, a tour and of course his appointment to Militant Artists! He is busy in the studio as we speak, writing and recording tracks, including one upcoming release, which is due out on Discover early 2015 and enlists the help of a well-known and extremely talented vocalist!
And this month sees the release of the second in the series of "Militant Artists presents... "This beautifully crafted, high energy mix includes original tracks and remixes from Bissen, Thomas Datt, Gary Maguire, Daniel Skyver and Icone as well as a selection of Militant Smiths own unmistakable masterpieces. With a monthly guest mix on Sunset Dance Radio, on Mix 93.8 FM, a special guest mix at the end of January on Diesel FM, and a number of gigs in the pipeline for both the UK and further afield, next year is already looking to be a record year!
