It was good to see Paul van Dyk team up with the trance duo of Aly & Fila for 'Guradian' and if you've not got the original yet then I'm sure a remix package featuring a Jordan Suckley remix might tempt you, it did me...
It’s been just over two decades that Paul van Dyk has been pumping out the electronic dance music. While many of his fans regard trance as his spiritual genre Paul does not want to get tainted as a trance DJ, quite rightly so as his musical styles do spread over a diverse range within the dance music spectrum. He does still pump out good trance though and his most recent single with Aly & Fila was very firmly slid into the genres pigeon hole. There is now a remix package out with two mixes form the triple threat team up of Paul and Aly & Fila along side a driving mix by Jordan Suckley and a chilled out affair from Pedro Del mar & R.I.B.

:: Sunrise Mix :: Sunset Mix :: Jordan Suckley Mix :: Pedro Del Mar R.I.B Chill Out Mix
While this is a team up between Paul and the Egyption duo lets not forget about the vocalist element in this single Sue McLaren. She has a gorgeous voice which for a tune in the style of ‘Guradian’ sits perfectly in place. The Sunset and Sunrise mixes remind me of the little bit of the ‘Reflections’ style of production Paul had, only with some extra elements. There are subtle changes to both these mixes but neither is really the pumping sound you might crave for in a trance record. These mixes are delicate and very laid back with sublime melodies to tease the audio taste buds with.
If it’s pumping you want, Jordan Suckley has very much got your number as it’s pumping he delivers. The pace is brought right up and Jordan has injected a sharp dose of energy to the beat in this tune. You can file this one in the uplifting category, great breakdown, vibrant melody and a pumping main beat. After that, you might want to chill, if you do slide on Pedro Del Mar’s remix as its one big massive breakdown. Chill out is not really for me so I didn’t take much interest in it, but for those who enjoy the style, this may well appeal to you.
Conclusion:
This is a solid remix package but for the trance fan who likes things a little higher up in the BPM range there is only one remix you should be dropping in the shopping cart and that's Jordan Suckley's.
