© Kate SimkoA collaboration of the classical kind draws Jamie Joines and Kate Simko together to hold the first orchestral-electronic concert of its kind in Latin America as part of the Modern Symphony Series...

Jamie Jones and Kate Simko will premiere a unique orchestral show for ‘Modern Symphony Series’, alongside the Colombia National Symphonic Orchestra in Bogota. This marks the first orchestral-electronic concert of its kind in Latin America.  The concert will feature a full set of Jones’ originals recomposed for orchestra, including ‘Hungry for the Power,’ ‘Tonight In Tokyo, and Hot Natured’s ‘Benediction.’  Simko’s opening set will showcase songs from her London Electronic Orchestra album, and the duo’s past collaborations ‘One Time Game ft. Jem Cooke’ and ‘Dark Delirium.’  Simko’s classical-electronic composition style meshes electronic and orchestral sound worlds.  Jones’ songs will be transformed with live instruments woven directly into his signature synth lines and electronic soundscapes, producing new versions from the vaults, rather than orchestral covers.  All orchestral arrangements are being composed by Kate Simko, alongside London-based arrangers Shane Rutherfoord-Jones and Mike Ladoceur.

Widely regarded as the leader of the new sound of house, Jamie Jones is renowned for his pioneering music, his cross-genre band Hot Natured, his ground-breaking label Hot Creations, and his world-renowned event series Paradise. Jamie's revolutionary sound is an instrumental part of his success, being both artistically innovative and yet easily accessible. He and his label, Hot Creations, have been credited with paving the way for a warmer, more melodic, deeper side of tech house.  Hot Natured’s song “Benediction” featuring vocalist Ali Love, hit the UK Top 40 chart, and catapulted the band outside of the underground. But it was Jamie’s remix of Azari & III’s “Hungry for the Power” that is his quintessential song; heard everywhere in Ibiza and beyond.

One of dance music’s most unique and diverse artists, Kate Simko combines her background as a Chicago house DJ with her classical background as a pianist and composer.  A prolific producer, Kate’s musical output includes albums on Ghostly, Hello?Repeat, and Last Night On Earth, various EPs, film soundtracks, and classical-electronic compositions under her alias London Electronic Orchestra. Whether remixing Philip Glass to Guy Gerber, touring an interactive audio-visual live set, or forming her own orchestral ensemble, Kate’s creativity shines throughout.  Kate’s groundbreaking project London Electronic Orchestra released it’s debut self-titled album earlier this year on The Vinyl Factory, gaining support across genres, and remixed by Seth Troxler and Fort Romeau.

Jamie Jones and Kate Simko released their first single ‘One Time Game ft. Jem Cooke’ in 2015, pulling together live strings and harp from Simko’s London Electronic Orchestra project alongside Jones’ slick electronic production and signature bass lines. More recently in 2016, the duo co-produced ‘Dark Delirum’ for Katy B’s critically acclaimed album ‘Honey’.  In this newest collaboration, the duo are opening up the vaults, bringing past music to life in a new way, and creating a sound world where the live performer is the thread between the orchestra and dance music.

Jamie Jones and Kate Simko are no strangers to pushing forward modern electronic music to new places.  Their live orchestra show premiere on December 3rd will transform their music into a mesmerizing live performance. For the first time in Latin America, electronic music and orchestrated symphony unite to provide an unprecedented spectacle.
