 Paul Oakenfold made history, not for the first time, last year to be the first DJ to perform at one of the Britains most iconic landmarks Stonehenge. This week he is releasing the set in CD compilation form…
The legend that is Paul Oakenfold made history yet again during last year as he set up the decks outside the iconic British landmark that is Stonehenge. It’s another milestone (no pun intended there) for the internationally acclaimed DJ who became the first DJ to play at the top of Mount Everest.
He did both of these while promoting Denon’s new range of digital controller’s which he setup with in front of the legendary stones for the mix. The set was performed in front of a very modest crowd of around 50 people and as a very special treat after his solo mix he was joined by techno icon Carl Cox for the back to back mix in the dark. The full length mix from that back to back has been posted on YouTube which you can find the link below. They had the stones all lit up for the mix which looked sensational in the dark.
Paul was very excited to take his music up to the site and play in front of the mysterious stones which have stood for centuries. Paul said “I am so lucky to be able to share my music from such an iconic site. The energy here is like nowhere else on earth, and this is reflected in my music. Despite having performed at incredible events and locations all across the globe, sunset at Stonehenge is by far the most magical moment to have the privilege to experience".
