In a statement today released by UK clubbing brand Passion it would seem their time at the iconic Emporium club will be coming to an end…
When you think of a Passion club night only one venue springs to mind. That venue has been the home of Passion for decades and of course you all know it’s a little place called the emporium in Coaville, Leicestershire. There have been some great memories and parties held there over the years but it seems after a few issues following on from their last event in March the club owners have washed their hands of Passion.
In a statement released by Passion they have been in discussion with the club owners about a resolution to certain failures on the last club night in March. In response to the issues brought forward by Passion the club detailed they had been in conversation with other trance nights about events at the venue, which goes against an exclusive agreement stating Passion would be the only Trance brand to hold events at the club. While I have no other information than the statement made today it would seem the club owners have no interest in respecting any exclusive arrangements or care about the issues Passion raised with them.
Its disappointing to read about it as it’s the place you associate this iconic UK clubbing brand with. One thing is for sure, if Passion leaves the Emporium it won’t be the end of this clubbing brand. They will find a new home; one which I trust will care about the clubbers coming in the door to have a party. The full statement made by Jason Kinch and David Fuher is right below and you can trust these guys will do the best by the brand and you will see new Passion events in the very near future, just maybe not at the Emporium.
PASSION STATEMENT IN FULL (5/05/2023)
On Monday March 20th 2023, the owners of the Passion brand and the owners of The Emporium met to discuss & debrief Passion’s 28th birthday event on March 11th and future events at The Emporium. Passion laid out in detail concerns regarding health and safety and operational failures that we had experienced at the venue on March 11th, and asked in writing that the Emporium owners addressed these issues with immediate effect.
Passion informed the club owners that if these issues were resolved, Passion would be able to honour 3 more dates for 2023 and continue with our exclusive agreement as the only Trance brand at the venue. The club owners responded by announcing that they had already held discussions with other trance brands (which went against our exclusivity agreement) and effectively denied Passion access to further dates in 2023.
All the Passion marketing team were removed as admins from The Emporium Facebook page, and we understand this page is now controlled by third parties who are creating their own agenda. We would like to say thank you to all the Dedicated Followers of Passion for staying loyal to the brand over many years, and long may this continue way past our special 30th Birthday.
Rest assured we have your best interest at heart, and we have a responsibility to keep you all safe whilst clubbing under the Passion Brand. Move information on events coming soon.
Passion have decided not to comment any further at this stage, as we will be considering all options moving forward, legally, and otherwise.
Jason Kinch & David Fuher.
