After two decades years on the scene you thought an identity would be found out by now but I'm afraid not, he is still the man With No Name. He's back on the Perfecto Fluoro name with some storming new psy / goa fused trance with added support from Vertical Mode. Say hello to Vice Versa...
As an artist aliases goes, The ‘Man With No Name’ is quiet a good one. If you do a little bit of digging you can find out there is a name behind the man with no name. That name is Martin Freeland who has been producing music since the early 1990’s and so far has four artist albums on the books. He is surly due a new one with his last release ‘Interstate Highway’ released a good 11 years ago. He is a name not unfamiliar with Perfecto Fluoro having released on the label as far back as 1995. A few of those early records were remixed and released by the label in 2011, but not by Adam himself. He is no officially back with the label that you could say started it all off for him. This I am sure is just the opening of the floodgates to a monsoon of new music he has in the stable. ‘Vice Versa’ is the single name with a remix by Vertical Mode.
:: Original Mix :: Vertical Mode Remix
The man With No Name is an icon in the posy and goa style of trance and his return to the Fluoro label brings us something really special. It’s all about creating a devilishly addictive bass line and a serious attack of psy sounds. This track has one hell of a hook line to it with subtle bass tone changes and a banging kick drum all wrapped up in a psy trance frenzy. With all that just building things up there is a sweet break in here with a well crafted melody to enjoy. The calm is not there for long though as it soon whips back up pace into a psy trance monster with acid pass whipping in and out.
There psy scene is in very healthy hands with the new breed of talent coming through pumping out some very fresh beats. One such new breed is the pair of Moshe Keinan & Hanan Gorenshtein otherwise known as Vertical Mode. If you know the saying ‘It Ain’t Broke, don’t fix it’ then that will tell you the direction they went with their remix here. I’d not really class it as a remix, more a slight tweak on the original keeping the same structure but just putting their sound scope over the elements. The original is too good to be meddled around with too much; the guys here have just tweaked it to perfection.
Conclusion:
The return of the Man With No name to the Perfecto label will be welcomed immensely by the trance community and his return will not disappoint. This is one progressively blended psy / goa masterpiece with a fresh edge to the original providing by Vertical Mode. This should be released in the next week or so and you should put it top of the shopping list.
