RAM Mixes Up The Grotesque Rework Collection

© Grotesque The Grotesque label has been revisiting the classic tracks of days gone by and having them remixed and reworked with todays sound. RAM has put together the best of them so far into a two disc mix compilation...

Grotesque by name, more striking and energetic by nature though, RAM’s vision of trance could hardly be more uplifting. Powered by his unswerving studio, DJ and event work, the Dutchman has long since forged his own sound within the sound.

Ever wondered though what the trance classics of yesteryear would sound like, had they been produced in the Grotesque times of today? Well wonder no more! Available as of today, RAM's has compiled and mixed the very first Grotesque Reworked & Remixed compilation.

Mix 1 consists exclusively of Reworked tracks, projecting some of trance’s perennially fresh classics through Grotesque's own unique sonic prism. Highlights? More like first among equals really! Just for starters we’re talking Salt Tank’s masterpiece ‘Eugina’, thoroughly reimagined by Ciaran McAuley and Factor B’s brilliantly nuanced overhaul of DJ Ton T.B.’s ‘Dream Machine’. Frontend, in its Ferry Tayle Remix form you’re also in line for ‘Sosei’ from Airscape, as well as the smash Stoneface & Terminal update of Mr Sam's ‘Lyteo’. Latterly, RAM’s retakes of Ahmed Romel’s ‘City of Life’ and Derb’s ‘Derbus’ sizzle the ear just as quickly, as does Indecent Noise’s remake of Mark Norman's ‘Phantom Manor’.

Into Mix 2’s Remixed territory, and from amongst the current crop, RAM has hand selected some super-fresh takes on classics. New life has been breathed into many an anthem, Tiësto & Christian Burns’ ‘In The Dark’, ‘Without You’ from Dogzilla and RAM’s own ‘Guiding Star’ to mention but a few.

Dutch DJ and producer Ram Boon, a.ka. RAM, was born March 2, 1974, in Amsterdam. His first big single was RAMsterdam (2009) which eventually ended up on Armin van Buuren's list of favorite tracks of the year. RAM continued producing singles like RAMazing (2011), RAMbition and RAMplify (2012); where combining the track titles with his name started as a joke, it later became as a trademark for his uplifting tracks. His latest album Forever Love (Black Hole Recordings, 2015) was received with critical acclaim and grabbed the #6 spot on Trancepodium 2015 Awards, category Best Artist Album.
