After a very successful 2019 with the release of their sixth studio album the Kraak & Smaak boys have had one of their latest singles releases given the remix treatment from Jean Tonique, Knight One and Saison…
Since the release of their sixth studio album ‘Pleasure Centre’ at the end of 2019, Kraak & Smaak have been riding on a wave of success. Contributing to this ascension was second album single ‘Don’t Want This To Be Over’ featuring Satchmode, becoming a feature in major streaming playlists and recently hitting the Hype Machine #1 spot. Recently releasing a sun-soaked music video encapsulating the tracks feel-good nature, ‘Don’t Want This To Be Over’ continues on its journey as a it now receives a selection of diverse remixes from a range of eclectic producers to include Jean Tonique, Knight One and Saison. The reworks span across genres from Disco, House and Soul as well as including dub mixes and instrumental versions. First up on remix duties is French producer Jean Tonique, a connoisseur of 70’s funk who has drawn comparisons from Kaytranada and Pomo, he was listed as one of Hype Machines Top 10 artists of 2019 following his reworks of Lana Del Rey and Outkast. Jean Tonique presents a chilled washed-out version of Kraak & Smaak’s electronic soul record, evoking nostalgic memories of summers gone by. Netherlands producer Knight One brings a fresh neo soul/west coast vibe adding a whole new level of depth to the track. Having also released notable remixes on Kraak & Smaak’s own imprint Boogie Angst as well as Majestic Casual, Knight One is an emerging artist making a name for himself and definitely one to watch. Finally, London duo Saison as one of the biggest selling deep house artists on Beatport, with numerous releases on Defected, Toolroom, Large Music and Sonar Kollektiv provide both a radio edit and a dub mix, alongside a massive French house influenced remix. Collectively, these artists add variety and depth to the acclaimed track through their inspiring and vibrant remixes.
