some right piece of bloat, playing videos too. not tried it since the alpha was leaked some months ago

not gonna ever use it, i'll stick to the old winamp 2 and foobar2k,

no winamp 4 because apprently

winamp 5 = winamp 2 + winamp 3

ie winamp 5 is the result of features and stuff from both winamps merged, to give best of both worlds kinda thing

Ive installed it but not tried it yet myself.... didnt like the most recent winamps... very slow and unfriendly id tag editing... also when playing wma files there is a 2 second delay on your actions within winamp... really stupid and annoying!... the recent version of winamp really SUCKED BIG TIME!!!.... but i hope winamp 5 has fixed the problems!

I checked it... still some bugs on it..
We are just listening the music... no need for something major though Wink

- small, fast and easy to use is better I think.

Is this the alpha or the beta? I tried the alpha but on this computer whenever I play .wma or .mid files it screws with my system volume!!!! Most annoying.
Anyways, if it's the beta I'll definitely try it again, Winamp is lovely.
Oh, and thanks for the explain on the odd numbering. haha

its the beta, gives you a new fancy schmancy skin, as for the problems i dunno, since its a beta, its obviously not meant for consumer use, ie more like to report on bugs, and stuff, id wait for the final at least for now

Have to say, I never use BETA versions on my 'active' system, never trust them. Will dl this and slap it on the test system see what the feeling is.

Old skool winamp, 2.91, simple, easy to use hhas everything you need for music. Dont bother with video and visuals, there are better programs out there for that. For audio tho, its tops.

Im using Winamp 5 at the moment and i have to agree that it feels bloated though it still plays winamp 2 visual plugins which isnt bad. I still feel version 2.91 is smaller and quicker but I think Ill probably go back to using 2.91 untill Winamp 5 has an offical release and give it another go.

ive got Winamp 5 installed... i quite like the new look.. just cant get the "enque" action to work.. pritty annoying Evil or Very Mad

in winamp press ctrl-p, and look at winamp pro menu,

basically enables, cd ripping/cd burning, and in the future dvd playback, and internet tv playback

2.91 was the last good winamp... i suppose its difficult to improve on near perfection! Very Happy
