Denon Vs Pioneer

Taken the step on purchasing a couple of the top CD decks you can get your hands on. Thing is, there are two:

Denon's S5000 and Pioneer's CDJ1000mrk2.

In terms of looks I'd give it the Denon but what Im after is opinions from anyone who has used either of the two to see how the features on both compare.

Failing any descision, I can always just get one of each Smile

ok... having read a few reviews on these two, head to head...

CDJ1000mk2 is simplier to play around with. the s5000 just have too many buttons with dual functions. that could be quite an issue when you're in a mix. besides, i don't think you're gonna use all the functions on the s5000, though it might seem really kick-ass for now. i still say, stick with the pioneers. straight up.

I haven't tested any of them, just been reading around a little. The S-5000 sure looks impressive and if I had the money I would prolly go with that one. But its "quite" expensive Wink

Have you ever considers the : Denon DN-S3000 ? I think its like Denons answer to CDJ-800. Same machine as the S-5000 but with less functions and a lower price, maybe a good purchase?

Yeah, only just been release the s3000 in the last few months and it does look really good. The MP3 features on it would be really useful, put them all on CD instead of faffing around with sleves and 12"'s.

Seen it for under £500 and they look really good. Allthough, the new features on the s3000 are now available as a software download for the s5000.

Available for download? Cool! But still, the S3000 is alot cheaper than the 5000 modell. I would check them both out before settle with one of them.

I'm still a vinyl addict though. So I won't be leaving my Numark TT-200's for a while Very Happy

this is a bit late...but what about waiting a bit till the technics cd player comes out...said to rival the cdj-1000 as new industry standard...and the platter is apparently the same size as a turntable platter

Good point but they dont come out until the middle / early point of next year. I'll see how the reaction is when they come into the public domain.
