Depeche Mode

I just heard a newer song of theirs on the radio, wondering if anyone was fans, either today or back in the 80s and 90s. The song was Precious BTW, and I really like it, it's a good change from the usual nonsense on nowadays.

They have done some truly great tunes over the years! My favorite is definetly "I feel loved", smashing tune!

What's their latest tune called now again? It's kinda cool Smile

Many thanks to a one Mike Koglin for introducing me to 'Enjoy The Silence' of which I do like the Depeche Mode's version. I've not heard their latest one.

Oh yes i'm a long time DM fan, been listenin to them since '84-'85 when i also got my first touches into electronic music as a whole.

Can't wait to see DM live in concert here in Finland in March '06!

Their older, early to mid/later 80s productions don't really appeal to me as much nowadays as what they did back then.. now i prefer their works since end of the 80s to present day. My fav DM album is 'Violator' (1990) which includes Enjoy The Silence, Policy Of Truth, World In My Eyes, Personal Jesus,.... and onwards. Their latest album 'Playing The Angel' reminds me alot of 'Violator' for it's darker theme and style.

The first single off the new album, 'Precious' is very good indeed and there are several even better remixes (Sasha, Calderone & Quayle, Misc., Motor, DJ Dan,..) to choose from if the original doesn't quite satisfy. The second single 'A Pain That I'm Used To' also got a few great remixes of which Jacques Lu Cont mixes take the cake i think.

Mike Koglin's 1998 remake of Enjoy the Silence isn't anything special but Matt Darey's Tekara mix of it takes into the next level, into a breaks bliss.

I was actually surprised when I heard the track, I thought it was from an old album, I didn't know they were still together! Has anyone bought their latest album?

I have to say that the first time I heard Depeche Mode was from that track Precious. I'm guessing their older stuff is very cool?

They will performe here in Portugal next month, so do you advise me to go? it´s worth? I'm not a fan I never heard almost nothing of them...
