Post subject: Dave Cortex announces new electronic music label Funkedge |

WASHINGTON, DC -- November 14, 2012 -- DJ and producer Dave Cortex announced his new label Funkedge yesterday, designed as an outlet for his emotive, groove-based sound.
Funkedge releases will feature a unique blend of house, techno, and progressive -- ranging from anthemic big-room funk, to laid-back, deeper vibes. Retro influences are merged with forward-thinking production techniques to create a truly original sound, with everything from psycho synths and twisted vocals to complex instrument solos.
"It's fantastic to see the whole planet embracing dance music culture," said Dave Cortex. "The only downside is that today's producers are obsessed with copying whatever's hot. It's more important than ever to create something original that comes from the heart."
The label officially launches on Monday, November 19th with Dave Cortex's "Tesla EP" -- three tracks that showcase the Funkedge range. Title track "Tesla" is a tech-influenced peak-time progressive monster with a massive low-end bass drop and a euphoric, hands-in-the-air breakdown. "Desert" is a dark, seductive tribute to groove with an old-school techno vibe. Finishing it off is "So Fresh", Dave's collaboration with musical prodigy Josh Harnois, who lays down an unbelievable six-minute sax solo.
The "Tesla EP" will be available exclusively at Beatport.com, the leading underground dance music store for two weeks. December 3rd marks the sale date for iTunes and Junodownload.com. Future releases will feature music from Matan Caspi, Melanie Synn, Lael Bellotti, and more.
