 Post subject: Do You Still Buy VHS? |

Here's an interesing one, do you still buy films and TV series relerase on VHS anymore. I know I try to get the DVD now, mainly for the quality and a few extras that are on there. With DVD players so chep as well you can afford to have one in every room in the house.
Sometimes I see a film on Taoe for £5 and see it on DVD for £7. Even tho its £2 cheaper I'm still temped to go with the DVD and mostly do.
As for recording, until the price of DVD recorders has gone down, VHS is still the daddy.

The DVD has better quality and it lasts longer, VHS deteriorates fast. I try to get mostly DVD now - I just bought the Alfred Hitchc o ck collection Vol. 1 & 2 on DVD.

I simply record it to my DVD player
even though I dont use this function to often =/

Well I was starting to think about that, Since I dont use to Record that much from TV cos I have got the time to see all that I want...
But if you dont have that much time all days and you use to record stuff, and maybe you wanna see more than one thing that starts at the same time, just set the ones you wanna record on record and watch one now,
I think that that is the best function with it, you can look at it and stil record another thing.
And thoose that I know that have got this function isnt cheap crap stuff that they have added a recording function to. The playback function got the best quality you can get out of your DVD´s
So I must say its worth it,
its functional
its prestige to have one
it has got awesome qaulity
You dont have to worry that your old VHS tapes will tangeld in your video
And you have bought something that you can use far in the future which a usual DVD player wont

Yeah, but I dont think it will drop that much since it has dropped 50% since the end of the summer.

I would rather go for a harddisk-based unit...that way you can easily choose afterwards what you want to keep and what to delete.
They are cheaper than those dvd-recorders too (with a 80GB or 120GB harddisk).

Im not too sure on a Hard Disk based unit, even if you had one with it being a hard disk you would always have to be extra safe and back it up.
As for price ((-&E-)) in the UK the cheapest one is from ALBA (quality naturally) and is about £250-£300
