Has anybody seen his films? If not you should, they are very good and have influenced how movies are made even today. My favourites from him are Psycho, Frenzy, and Vertigo.

Right, probably the beginning of modern horror films. Exceptional especially considering the technology they had back then.
By the way, "Hitch" was famous British director from the 1930s-1970s.
