Are you part of the problem or part of the solution

Rumors are a pathetic societal problem that needs to be stopped. In the last month alone, I've been the victim of false rumors spread by people who don't ask for evidence or go to the person and ask is it true. So what do you think about this problem? and are you part of the solution (by not participating in rumors) or you part of the problem (continue to enjoy rumors)...honest answers please.

Not really a participant in rumours either way. I hear the occasional one but don't do anything about it.

I dunno if you mean general gossip like between friends or celebrity stuff. If you mean the latter I try to stay away, just cause most of it's pointless anyways. From friends I usually will try to get people to see what's real about others but I don't spread stuff on purpose.

I remember when i was back at school i was a victim of a vicious rumour but it was so outrageous it didn't get very far but it didn't stop me been worried of the consequences. Evil or Very Mad

Some girl that I would not date in High School started a rumor in my OAC (final year) that I was going to blow up the school. Fucking bitch denied it and never got in trouble....later that month....i got an 8 day suspension for other matters.

Rumours, unless I have been told by the person himself/herself about whatever I dont even bother worrying about rumours.

I know the facts, if folk wanna spread bollocks about, why should I get involved, care or give a fuck.

i wouldnt start rumours about people cos i aint like that..fair enough me and me mates take the piss out of each other good style but never start rumours within th group like...usually the piss taking is about stuff that has actually happened....stuff dont need 2 made up cos people do daft shit all the time and diserve a piss take.....its an understanding....

usually the rumours i pay attention 2 are usally 2 do with sport

the problem is totally unrelated to anything internet wise and was really 2 people who have always disliked me started them. It was a valid discussion topic I felt.

to answer your question i would have to say both.. i mean it's in human nature to start rumours and i think that there is a misconception about the word that labels it as negative.. w/o people spreading rumours i think life would be boring.. i don't agree with spreading negative rumours as an act of revenge or jelously but sometimes it's a good way to punish people that do not take into consideration other people and therefore i feel that the ramifications of their actions, the rumours spread, may be justified

Sorry andy, maybe when I comment u take me up wrong, maybe there is a difference in the way I speak because I speak with Irish phrases etc...

I never go out to flame and I never normally give bad comments to anyone, so if I make a comment to you which you feel personal or offensive, please email me and ask me about it as im sure its definitly not what u think. Im confident in this because of my 9 years of being on the internet ive never had an argument and ive never had friction between myself and any other browser of the internet... dont know why it begins now... thanks
